Special Issue: Emerging Markets and Technologies

Biopreservation and Biobanking is planning a Special Issue focusing on Emerging Markets and Technologies. The issue will publish during the year-long promotion and celebration of the publication’s 20th year anniversary. The editors invite manuscripts from practitioners, researchers, and stakeholders advancing the field. Some paper themes identified, with examples, as follows:

• Personalized products, such as those based on genomic/metabolic profiling at the individual or population level
• Extension of health data services into biobanking and the view of biobanking from the perspective of healthcare information services)

• Direct to consumer/telemedicine opportunities for biobanks 
• Cloud-based remote monitoring and automation 
• Companion diagnostics
• Just-in-time biobanking models, their application and impact
• General new technologies (biobanking – software, preanalytics, cryopreservation)
• Journey to public market, how can biobanks support start-up and SMEs reaching their goals 
• Novel biotechnology linked to population science/health
