Special Issue on Application of Bacteriophages in Agriculture and Aquaculture
PHAGE: Therapy, Applications, and Research is the only peer-reviewed journal dedicated to fundamental bacteriophage research and its applications in medicine, agriculture, aquaculture, veterinary applications, animal production, food safety, and food production. PHAGE is under the leadership of Dr. Martha Clokie with the support of an international team of Editors. The journal is multidisciplinary in scope and includes research in basic science, molecular biology, food technology and safety, agriculture, marine biology, translational research, immunology, microbiology, diagnostics, clinical studies, biotechnology and policy. We will consider articles in the form of original research, reviews, commentaries, opinion pieces, profiles and perspectives.
To highlight the advances in the application of bacteriophages in plants, livestock, and in aquaculture; PHAGE is organizing a special issue that will focus on all aspects of the use of phages in these settings. We welcome manuscripts in the following categories:
- The use of phages to remove bacterial pathogens from all crops and animals including fish and shellfish.
- Articles that showcase technical developments and data to support the use of phages to remove bacterial pathogens from such environments.
- ‘Phage introductions’ on relevant novel phages to be used in agriculture/aquaculture.
Although we particularly welcome original research articles, we will also consider novel review papers in this area. The deadline for manuscript submission for this Special Issue is October 1, 2020.
