Systems Medicine, the premier open access, peer-reviewed journal focused on interdisciplinary approaches to exploiting the power of big data by applying systems biology and network medicine, is seeking impactful research to be included in an upcoming special issue on Integrative Data Analysis in Systems Medicine.

Integrative data analysis (IDA) in systems medicine is an emerging interdisciplinary field of study that investigates strategies, algorithms and implementations of pooling or combining data from different sources and applies systems biology approaches in solving complex biomedical problems.

In this issue we will consider research papers and review articles that focus on the integration of different types of medical and biological data results aimed towards better understanding the more detailed description and models of systems medicine. Manuscripts dealing with integrative analysis algorithms, architectures, data representation, software & tools development, and applications in systems medicine are highly desired.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Data presentation in IDA
• Feature selection and extraction for IDA
• IDA-based classification and prediction algorithms and application
• IDA-based clustering algorithms and application
• Network approach for IDA
• Multi-scale computing
• IDA approach to multi omics data analysis
• Probabilistic approach to IDA
• Development of IDA systems and tools
• Comparison study in IDA for systems medicine

Contributions will receive prompt and thorough peer review. Please refer to our Instructions for Authors before submitting your manuscript for consideration. Authors are encouraged to vet ideas directly with Professor Zheng before submitting.

Systems Medicine publishes basic science, translational, and clinical research in the form of original research articles, comprehensive review articles, mini-reviews, rapid communications, brief reports, technology reports, hypothesis articles, perspectives, and letters to the editor. The Journal publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY) license to ensure broad dissemination and participation. All articles submitted to Systems Medicine are rapidly reviewed and published online within 4-5 weeks after acceptance. Systems Medicine is fully NIH-, HHMI- and Wellcome Trust compliant.
