Medical Acupuncture is planning a special issue on how acupuncture helps women achieve healthy outcomes for pregnancy, infertility, labor and delivery, and postpartum.
Acupuncture has been utilized for centuries to treat potential miscarriage, bleeding, premature contractions, as well as pain and discomfort pregnant women experience throughout the stages of pregnancy. In the interest of fostering an understanding of the effectiveness of acupuncture in treating couples with infertility and in managing pain and address adverse conditions from prenatal to postpartum, we invite submissions of original research and review articles, pertinent to the following:
- Infertility
- During Pregnancy
- Pain and Discomfort*
- Emotional disorders such as depression, anxiety and stress
- Gestational hypertension and preeclampsia
- Bleeding and threatened miscarriage
- Breech presentation
- Labor and Delivery
- Premature labor and/or rupture of membranes
- Induction of labor
- Pain management in labor, fatigue
- Retained placenta
- Postpartum
- Fatigue, constipation
- Joint pain
- Depression
- Insufficient lactation
- Postpartum and cesarean section recovery
- Any other acupuncture subjects outside of these areas related to pregnancy
Deadline for Manuscript Submission: April 30, 2019.
