The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and The Canadian Association of General Surgeons (CAGS) are hosting this annual meeting oriented toward minimally invasive surgery and is a leading force in both resident education and continuing medical education.

Co-located at the WCES is the The International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG) annual meeting.
