Highlighting the Best Young Investigator Research Articles in Tissue Engineering

Mary Ann Liebert Inc., publishers, the publisher of Tissue Engineering, the official journal of TERMIS, and all three chapters (AM, EU and AP) of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS) are pleased to announce the Best Research Article Awards. These awards are presented in recognition of impactful scientific articles contributed by the current Student and Young Investigator (SYIS) members.

Tissue Engineering has a strong interactive relationship with TERMIS and SYIS through the Tissue Engineering Young Investigators Council (YIC). These awards serves to recognize contributions of outstanding young researchers in the field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine across all three chapters of TERMIS.

Winners will receive a certificate of recognition and cash prize:
First place ($1000 USD)| Second place ($600 USD)| Third Place ($300 USD)

Award Ceremony will be held at the 5th TERMIS World Congress 2018, Kyoto, Japan


Eligibility criteria:

Submissions will undergo a number of evaluation criteria and metrics, which will be considered by the judging committee. These include, but are not limited to:

  • The paper must be published in Tissue Engineering Journal Part A, B or C
  • The paper must be published between September 1st, 2015 and December 31st, 2017
  • Paper must have a digital object identifier (DOI) prior to the submission deadline
  • Applicant must be a SYIS member at the time of award submission (those with a faculty position are not eligible). Please email SYIS if you have a query regarding eligibility
  • The applicant must be a first (or joint first) author of the article
  • Submission Deadline: 31st May, 2018

Evaluation:

Submissions will undergo a number of evaluation criteria and metrics, which will be considered by the judging committee. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Number of citations (the timeframe from which the paper was initially published will be taken into account)
  • The breadth of the work undertaken by the applicant
  • The number of times the paper has been read, downloaded, appeared as a notable mention in other media
  • Based on the above criteria, three best papers (one per chapter) will be selected
  • First, second, and third place awards will be decided by our esteemed judging panel

Applicants are required to send:

  • A published copy of the article
  • Article metrics (e.g. number of citations)
  • Contribution statement (Describe in 500 words or less the significance of the work and its impact in the field of Tissue Engineering)
  • Applicant's CV to verify eligibility
  • Cover letter
  • Letter of support from the senior author of the published article
