Aims & Scope

Tissue Engineering, Part C: Methods serves as the authoritative peer-reviewed biomedical journal advancing the field with cutting-edge Methods and Protocols articles focused on tissue repair or regeneration. This methods journal brings together the fundamental and applied principles of engineering and life sciences in the creation of artificial tissues and regenerative medicine.

The journal continues to serve as an influential and central forum for valuable methods research and developments from leading experts in the field. Tissue Engineering, Part C: Methods meets the demand for high-quality methods and protocols covering innovative tools and assays in scaffold development, stem cells and biologically active molecules to advance the field and to support clinical translation.

The journal provides “instant online” publication of accepted articles within 72 hours of acceptance and publishes monthly online and print issues. The journal is Green Open Access compliant and supports options for authors to publish their work under a CC-BY Open Access license.

Coverage includes a.o. Methods and Protocols on the following topics:

  • Methods and protocols in regenerative medicine within relevant areas and technologies
  • Tools and assays in scaffold development, stem cells, and active molecules
  • Surface modification technologies; protein adsorption and cell behavior
  • in vivo response to cell-material constructs
  • Bioagents and the development of carrier systems
  • Bioreactors for 2D and 3D tissue growth
  • Applied nanotechnology and/or non-invasive approaches
  • Inductive scaffolds and matrices
  • Organoids, organs-on-a-chip, and smart systems
  • Self-assembly materials
  • Artificial Intelligence in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
  • Cell therapy
