Effects of Violent Video Games

Controversy over violent video games surfaced in the 1990s. Whether or not violent video games lead to aggressive behavior in real life is still hotly debated. Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking requests article submissions related to the topic of the use of violent video games for a forthcoming special issue exploring this timely and important topic.

This special issue will specifically focus on the major issues surrounding violent video games. We are particularly interested in articles that report objective findings, including:

  • Biochemical studies
  • Physiological studies
  • Brain imaging studies
  • Multicultural studies
  • Effects on child and adolescent development
  • Influence on behavior
  • Health outcomes, including obesity and musculoskeletal injuries

Additionally, studies with large sample sizes and randomized trials will be given preference.

Access the Instructions for Authors before submitting your manuscript. Visit the journal’s website to learn more and read past issues. Queries to the editor to propose a topic prior to submission are encouraged.
