The special issue will present a collection of the latest developments and recent scientific advances in the microbial enzymes derived from the extremophiles and their industrial applications. It aims to collect original research papers and reviews on outstanding and novel works that focus on the sustainable production of enzymes from extremophiles and their applications in various industries, including industrial waste management. It will also cover the use of emerging tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning for extremophilic enzyme production, in silico analyses of industrially important enzymes and their applications.

This prominent special issue will consider articles from the full breadth of evidence: from original research papers and reviews to perspectives related to enzymes from extremophiles and their industrial applications.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Extremophiles and their enzymes
  • Isolation of novel extremophiles capable of producing industrial enzymes
  • Genetic engineering of extremophiles for enhanced production of enzymes
  • Use of AI and machine learning for smart bioprocess for extremophilic enzyme production
  • Industrial waste management (solid and wastewater) by enzymes derived from extremophiles
  • Applications of enzymes derived from extremophiles in biofuels
  • Extremophilic enzymes for healthcare
  • Agro-industrial applications of extremophilic enzyme
  • Waste valorization for the production of extremophilic enzymes
  • In silico structure-function interrelationship of industrially important enzymes derived from extremophiles

Benefits of publishing with Industrial Biotechnology include:

  • Expert peer review and editorial oversight of your manuscript from leading specialists in your field
  • Zero-embargo Green Open Access policy
  • Free 30-day access to share your published research with your networks and colleagues
  • Global visibility in more than 170 countries

We also encourage submission of papers that have been published in conference proceedings, with the requirement that the authors have made significant extensions as compared to the already published version of the study. Manuscript submission deadline is May 15, 2024.

Upon manuscript submission, choose the article type: Special Issue: Enzymes from Extremophiles
