The Journal of Interferon and Cytokine Research, with Editor in Chief Dr. Woodland and Executive Editor Dr. Donnelly, is proud to announce a call for papers for a special issue titled "Latin American Perspectives on Interferon and Cytokine Research: Emerging Trends and Breakthroughs". This issue aims to showcase the significant contributions of Latin American researchers in the field of interferon and cytokine research, highlighting the role these elements play in disease processes affecting populations across Latin America.

Scope of Submissions:
We invite manuscripts that cover a broad spectrum of topics related to interferon and cytokine research, especially those focusing on the understanding and treatment of infectious and chronic diseases, as well as cancer. Submissions can range from exploring disease mechanisms and identifying biomarkers to fundamental aspects of interferon and cytokine interactions with diseases. We are looking for:

•    Original research on disease mechanisms involving interferons and cytokines.
•    Studies on the identification and validation of biomarkers in disease states.
•    Basic research insights into the roles of interferons and cytokines in health and disease.
•    Reviews of current trends, challenges, and breakthroughs in interferon and cytokine research.
•    Case studies and clinical reports that provide new insights into disease processes influenced by interferons and cytokines.
•    Cytokine-based immunotherapeutic approaches

Highlighting Latin American Research:
This special issue aims to highlight the pivotal role of Latin American researchers in advancing our understanding of interferons and cytokines. Over the years, these researchers have made considerable contributions, often focusing on how these critical components of the immune system impact disease processes relevant to the Latin American population. Through this call, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of local and global health challenges and encourage submissions that reflect the diverse and rich scientific environment of Latin America.

Authors may vet ideas directly with the editors through e-mail before submitting and should contact the editorial office with any questions. Manuscripts will be peer reviewed and only high-quality submissions will be accepted for publication.
