With the growing wealth of large datasets for biological research, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have provided invaluable tools to hone biological prediction algorithms and learn patterns for mechanistic insight. From drug discovery to cell and gene therapy to clinical data analysis, AI/ML is currently one of the fastest-paced growth areas in the biotech industry with widespread impact across life science and medicine.
GEN Biotechnology is pleased to announce a call for papers for our inaugural special issue: Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology
This collection of research articles, reviews, and perspectives will be published in late 2024. We invite researchers to submit without delay manuscripts describing original research, reviews, and commentaries on any aspect of AI and ML in biological research including but not limited to:
- Drug discovery and development
- Toxicology
- Cell and gene therapy
- Cancer research
- Diagnostics
- Clinical data analysis
- Manufacturing processes and production pipelines
- Protein design and engineering
- Generative molecule and materials design
- Novel tools to analyze small or large datasets
- Mathematical modeling of biological systems
- Large language models (LLMs) in biological research
- Data quality and data curation for ML
Manuscripts will receive prompt peer review and accepted articles will be published rapidly online ahead-of-print. Please refer to our Instructions for Authors before submitting your manuscript.
