New Rochelle, NY, January 11, 2024 – Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., is pleased to announce that Marc Meredith, PhD., has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief of Election Law Journal, a quarterly publication.  Dr. Meredith’s term as Editor-in-Chief begins in January 2024.

Election Law Journal publishes cutting-edge research on a broad range of topics concerning election law and election administration. The Journal addresses everything from federal to local election laws with insightful analysis from the top scholars in the field, as well as perspectives from practitioners and elected officials.

Dr. Meredith will succeed David Canon, PhD, who is completing a five-year tenure as Editor-in-Chief of Election Law Journal. The journal has seen a growth in readership and downloads during Dr. Canon’s term and are grateful for his strategic and innovative leadership.

“I am thrilled to receive the opportunity to build on the momentum that David Canon generated for the Election Law Journal in publishing excellent scholarship on elections. I personally have learned a tremendous amount from the work appearing in the Election Law Journal and my goal is that it is the first journal in which scholars across the globe consider publishing their electorally-focused research. And that consumers of the research published in Election Law Journal can be assured that it will be rigorously peer reviewed before it is published,” said Dr. Meredith.

Dr. Meredith is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and also holds a secondary appointment in the Business Economics and Public Policy Department in the Wharton School. He holds a BA in Economics and Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences from Northwestern University, a MA in Economics from Northwestern University, a MA in Political Science from Stanford University, and a PhD in Political Economics from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Dr. Meredith’s research examines the political economy of American elections, with a particular focus on the application of causal inference methods. His substantive research interests include election administration, election law, political campaigns, and voter decision-making.
